full life

(no subject)

Sorry for not posting lately. Olympic fever, you know how it is.

Not much actually going on, but there are things potentially going on that are very exciting. Not quite ready to talk about them yet, and I don't want to jinx them. But it's been very nice to have that feeling back, that feeling of something awesome being imminent.

It's old news, but it bears repeating - I have not gotten a full night's sleep in at least the last month or so. I love my little doggies oh so much, but they're going to kill me, I know it. I do think of it as good practice, though, should we ever have a baby.

Can't remember if I said this or not, and I can't be bothered to look back; I finished Watchmen, which was better than the hype - and now I'm officially excited for the movie. I'd seen the trailer a bunch of times but it meant nothing to me - now it does.

We saw Pineapple Express over the weekend; I'm gonna give it a big fat "meh." Very excited for Tropic Thunder, however.

I've been listening to a bit of everything lately; friend turned me on to Mississippi John Hurt, who is wonderful, but I've also been getting back into certain songs off of the +/- album, as well as falling back in love with The Forms record. I feel like I'm finally close to something, like I'm on the verge of finally getting all the hidden music out of my brain that I can't quite articulate, and getting it into my fingers and on to tape. It's so close.
I've seen a bunch of trailers for it - I only wish I'd seen the website before they pulled it down because of protests.
What's frustrating is that the people staging the protest haven't seen the movie, nor do they plan to. The joke isn't about retarded people - the joke is about Hollywood. Hell, Mr. Show did a skit about this very same thing 10 years ago.
I think +/- are playing in NYC tomorrow, no? And in Boston on Saturday. I can't go because I'm playing shows in Philly and Ithaca, respectively, but you should. Also, I guess they have a new record coming out this fall.
