Ordinarily I'd be reluctant to post anything about the Backstreet Boys, but this article in the New York Times is very interesting. It just goes to show that the music industry might just be the most evil corporate industry of them all. When RPAA gets all pissy about Napster and complains that internet piracy is what's bringing down the music industry, it makes me want to strangle them and say that it's not piracy that's bring the industry down, it's the mentality that it's more important to sell 10 million albums immediately than to make any sort of long-term development with a band that could sell twice that over 5-10 years. But I digress. Make sure you're registered with the NYT (which you should be, anyway) before you read.
