full life

(no subject)

1. Saw A Mighty Wind last night. Loved it. Time will tell if it will replace "Best In Show" as my favorite in the series; I expect the DVD to have at least an hour's worth of deleted scenes simply because the cast was SO BIG that none of them got sufficient screen time. That's probably the only problem I had with it - too big a cast, all of whom are really, really funny - Jennifer Coolidge in particular - but who you don't get to spend enough time with. The Folksmen alone could (and should) have their own film. That's all I can say, without spoiling it. I also bought the soundtrack, and was a bit surprised to find out that the cast actually wrote, arranged and performed all the songs - including The New Main Street Singers' impressive vocal harmonies.

2. Tonight is The Sea And Cake at Bowery Ballroom, which is basically porn on a stick. Favorite band + favorite venue = good times. Ex-LJer JDixon will be making a welcome NYC appearance as well.

3. Busy weekend coming up - tomorrow night my mom and stepdad are taking Kath and I to the Met to see La Boheme; we spend the night at my mom's house and then go to my dad's apartment in Croton for Easter.

4. Made contact with yet another Craigslist band - this one sounds really, really interesting. The only thing that sucks about this weekend being so busy is that I need to record some new demos and burn CDs, which I might not have time for.

5. It's Friday, and thank fucking god for that. My fantasy baseball team, barring unforseen catastrophe, seems poised to take over the top spot in the league.

Today seems to be relatively slow, so I'm sure there'll be more babbling later in the day.
