full life

(no subject)

Here's what I wrote a year ago today:

"I turn 30 in exactly one week. 30!!! Jeebus. I'm not really that freaked out about it, actually - partly because I'm one of the last people to turn 30 in my group of friends, but also because I never really set up the concept of "30" as being some sort of incredibly important milestone the way I did for 25. When I was in college, I had this whole thing about how if I wasn't fully supporting myself through music when I was 25, I would quit entirely and go back to school (to study... something). Now, however... I'm married to my best friend and soulmate, I'm in a band I really like, my job isn't totally sucking the life out of me, I'm living in a great apartment and I've got the 2 cutest puppies in the entire world... I don't necessarily have any gigantic long-term goals at the moment, besides getting healthy."

Yeah, but NOW I turn 31 in exactly one week, and 31 feels a hell of a lot older than 30. That extra "1" really pushes it over the cliff.
