It's wierd to have the exact same routine every morning - i.e., waking up at the same time, leaving the apartment at the same time, getting to the subway platform and standing in the same spot every morning - and see different people at the platform every single morning. I mention this only because in the last couple weeks I've started to notice a few people who keep generally the same subway habits as me, and it's the sort of thing that ought to have a greater significance than it actually does.
My Oscar predictions (what I think will win, not necessarily what I want to win):
Best Picture: Chicago
Best Actor: probably Jack, again
Best Actress: Nicole Kidman
Best Supporting Actor: Chris Cooper
Best Supporting Actress: Julianne Moore
Best Director: Martin Scorcese
If "Adaptation" doesn't win Best Adapted Screenplay, I'll continue to be as angry as I always am at this fucking stupid "ceremony". Let's just hope that Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson get to announce another award like they did last year - their "Best Costume" bit was, hands down, the best thing about that show in the last 20 years.
