1. The new Lilys album is great, just great. Less Kink-y - and actually some of it hearkens back to the "Esscame", shoegazing days - and the arrangements are a bit less intricate than the stuff on the last two albums. But still - great stuff. Kurt Heasley's songwriting style is incredibly unique - I'd go as far to call it stream-of-consciousness, in that in a 3-minute song he very rarely repeats any musical phrase more than once. Anyway, good stuff. It won't replace "Esscame" or "3-Way", but will certainly complement them nicely.

2. So last night Kath and I put down our deposit on the wedding site. The price was just a wee bit more than we had hoped, but still - it's by far the best deal in the city. Her parents were a bit non-plussed at the news, but we'll make it work somehow. I mean, $81/head is ridiculous when you consider that most places here are at least $130/head, and then there's tons of extra fees... Anyway, it's a relief to have that part out of the way. Now I gotta figure out what to do about music. And believe me, the pressure's on in that department - my mother's family is basically all-musical, and being a musician myself, I gotta reprazent. Furthermore, there's really not enough space for even a 3-piece jazz combo, so it looks like we're gonna have to go the DJ route - but we're committed to excluding certain wedding staples - no "Celebration", no "A little bit louder now" (or whatever it's called), no "Electric Slide", and absolutely no fucking "Macarena".

3. One of my lawyers is on vacation - starting today - so today is, so far, very, very slow. My cubicle-mate moved to a different floor, though, so I've got my own tunes on and I'm doing the butt-bounce in my seat. Good times, good times.

4 and 5 are forthcoming, I guess. I just don't have anything right now.

    1. A love song for today's modern man. It's almost as if it were ghostwritten specifically for me to sing to my wife. 2. I know I've not been…

Maybe you've heard about that terminally ill boy who called Notre Dame's first play a couple weeks ago? That was a nice story. Then there's this,…
