1. Watched "Solaris" last night, and was knocked out. It's a shame this film bombed; I think people must have seen James Cameron's name as the Producer and expected some insane sci-fi shoot-em-up, which couldn't have been farther from the truth. Clooney is quite remarkable, the cinematography is impeccable; great story, great storytelling, great film. (As Will Ferrel's James Lipton impersonation would say, it's "scrumptrillescent". If there's any reason to buy the Old School DVD, it's for the Actor's Studio spoof, which is 30 minutes of, well, scrumptrillescence. Much funnier than the film itself.)

2. There's nothing going on at work today, or tomorrow for that matter. Took a long lunch with a buddy who lives nearby and who I hadn't seen in a while - even had a beer.

3. I can't. Fucking. Wait until vacation. This week has been the slowest week EVAR.
i felt the same way about solaris. unfortunatly my appreciation for the new solaris is overshadowed by my adoration of the 3 hour tarkovsky version from the 70's. you should see it.
I'd like to see the original one, absolutely. I'm a big fan of the Criterion DVD treatment, anyway.
