The US Open was awesome. I went to pee during Capriati's match and almost missed the whole thing (rimshot!), and the Roddick/Henman match was incredible, too. Roddick had one serve clocked at 140mph (!!!) and even though he won in straight sets, it wasn't like Henman didn't play well enough to win - Roddick was just overpowering. Also, I bought 2 beers, a pretzel and a sausage for $21.

Bonus - it only took us 20 minutes to get home. Score one for Queens!

Today, finally, those games I wanted are getting released, and I'll swing by Virgin for the Mr. Show DVD. Tonight will be a very fucked-up night for me, in terms of attention span - do I play the games? Do I watch Mr. Show? Do I play the games with the sound down so I can listen to the Yankee game on the radio? And will Latrell's yacht make an appearance, and if so, how much more difficult will it be to multi-task?

Sunday night we're going to the Wet Hot American Summer midnight screening in Times Square, which should be fucking awesome.

Also - we scored tickets for Eddie Izzard, who's coming to NYC in early October. Woohoo!

ALSO also - Kath and I have found our honeymoon spot - Cancun, baby!

Kinda hard to imagine Thomas Pynchon (and not, say, Tom Robbins) writing this paragraph, but there it is on p. 99 of "Inherent Vice":…
