So they've moved me around to another desk, and to be honest with you I'm not really sure why they bothered. I won't have anything to do today except wait to get my time sheet signed.

Finally spoke with my long-lost friend last night, which was great. And of course she's totally kicking ass in her career, which is great. And when it was my turn to tell her what I was up to, I was like... um... well, I'm not really up to that much, actually, which felt really dumb to say. And of course she was like, well, hey, you're in a transitional phase, you'll be rocking again in no time, and I said yeah, of course I will, ha ha ha, it's only a matter of time...

I didn't do any songwriting last night either. I was on the phone with the woman and my mom, though not at the same time; I got incredibly stoned and watched the making-of documentary for Close Encounters of the Third Kind, which was actually really good; and I shuffled off to bed rather early, feeling dumb.

This weekend the woman and I drive to CT for a wedding; it will be nice to chill out in a hotel room with no distractions. And when I say "chill out", that's not exactly what I mean.
