1. Life Without Drugs, Day 8: Aside from being tired, I've actually been feeling pretty goddamned terrific recently. Anxiety attacks have subsided; normal sleep patterns have resumed; work-related crankiness is waaaaay down from weeks past. Although, maybe it's just the warmer weather that's making me feel better...

2. ...or maybe it's because "Opening Day" is tomorrow morning. I don't think I'm going to wake up at 5:00am to see the first pitch, but I don't have Tivo and I'd really like to see some of it. I think I can miss the first hour and not feel too guilty about it. To be honest, I think it's completely and utterly stupid for the Yankees to be doing MLB any favors, and I think it's borderline criminal to feature Arod and Sheffield's first Yankee ABs at 5am on a Tuesday. Whatever. I love baseball more than I hate Bud Selig.

3. Life Without Money, Day 5: I'm down to my last $13 until payday. Stupid taxes. I'd really appreciate my federal refund one of these days.

Later that week, I finally made it to an iVillage drinkathon, and while the turnout wasn't as monsterous as its been in years past, it was still nice to see old faces.

Even though I've given up coffee, I think I need some. I'm falling asleep.

  • Catching up

The first sentence of this post was "Finally, some breathing room," and then as I was in the middle of the second sentence I got handed…

  • (no subject)

Kinda hard to imagine Thomas Pynchon (and not, say, Tom Robbins) writing this paragraph, but there it is on p. 99 of "Inherent Vice":…
