2. Yesterday afternoon Kath, her parents and I went to the wedding site and met with the manager to go over the menu, seating arrangements, and other miscellaneous stuff that needed to get dealt with. Much to our surprise and delight, everything we had questions about was answered to our satisfaction - especially our idea for the wedding cake, which we never thought we'd be able to get. I still have to get some cables for the iPod - they're in the process of getting new stereo components, so I'm not exactly sure what I need to buy, but I'll probably just end up buying 5 or 6 different cables to keep my bases covered.
3. Finished the single-player portion of the new Splinter Cell game, which was awesome. Liked it much better than the first one, even though the ending was a bit anticlimactic. Now, multiplayer!
4. As I've said many times before, I'm a big believer in Fate and its cousins, Synchronicity and Serendipity. Without making a big deal about it, I'll just say that Kath and I have had more than our share of wierd connections and fortuitous happenings, and there've been a few things over the past week or so that have left us scratching our heads, albeit happily so - one involving a strange man walking right up to us at the Union Square subway platform and saying, happily, "Very Good!" while hugging us and giving us a thumbs-up. I thought it was creepy, Kath thought it was a blessing. The other wierd thing is incredibly convoluted and I might be accused of stretching the definition of synchronicity a bit, so I'll just say that it involves very fortunate real estate connections. More on that as it develops.
5. Well, I've been off of pot for 2 weeks now, but I've been drinking a bit more instead. The good thing about that, though, is that it means that I've been getting out of the apartment. The bad thing, however, is that I'm spending a lot more money. Have I mentioned that the wedding is in less than 3 paychecks? So I really ought to keep spending down. Ergo, I need a flask.
Tonight: go UConn!
Tomorrow: go Yankees!
