1. In the midst of downloading stuff for the wedding, I found the first Heroic Doses album. I'm a big fan of Bill Dolan from his work with 5ive Style, and I'd been wanting to hear his other stuff for years. And being that this morning's normally 20-minute-long commute took over an hour (because of subway problems), I finally got a chance to listen to it. And I really, really like it. It doesn't sound that radically different from 5ive Style, either. I wonder what he's up to these days...

2. Also had a chance to give the new Modest Mouse a spin or two. It's nowhere near as scrumptrillescent as "Moon and Antarctica", but I have to say that both "The World At Large" and "Float On" are some of the best songs I've heard in a couple years.

3. My shoe is broken. The last thing I need to be spending money on right now is shoes, but there you go. Goddammit.

4. So EA has finally decided to become Xbox Live compatible, which is great (Burnout 3 and Tiger Woods online!) and terrible (upcoming mortgage!). Anyway, it's nice to see that my boycott worked.

5. Word has it that my bachelor party is this weekend. To those of you who (a) read this and (b) are coming in from out of town for it, do you need to crash at my house? You can, of course, but since I'm totally in the dark about what's happening, I don't know if you guys have made arrangements or not. Unless, of course, the big surprise about my bachelor party is that it's gonna be one big pajama party. Which is fine.
