Friday night: Kath and I have a very nice dinner, but more importantly, we have a very productive conversation regarding the apartment search and my work situation. Feeling a bit better about everything. Also, we rent 3 movies, and after flipping a coin we watch Kill Bill v.1 for the first time. I guess I'll have to watch v.2 now, b/c v.1 seemed woefully incomplete.
Saturday: My day to spend w/ Kath. We watch the other 2 movies - "Something's Gotta Give", which is worth seeing purely for Diane Keaton's amazing performance, and "Love Actually", which features The Office's Tim in a very small but funny role, not to mention a ton of other wonderful actors milling about in a bucket of Nutrasweet. Then: bowling. I'm happy to say that I kept my lifetime average of 120 in check; I'll refrain from posting Kath's scores, although she did bowl more than her age. We were then supposed to go to Smith & Wollensky's for steak, but instead we went to see "Dodgeball", which was a lot funnier than you'd expect. ESPN 8 - the "OCHO"! Also, great preview for "Anchorman" which is my dark horse for Greatest. Movie. Ever.
Sunday: 12-hour Texas Hold'Em marathon. Kath and I each won a hand, which helped pay for the cab ride home. Too many cigars for me, though, and now I feel like shit.
Also - apparently, at the Phish show in Brooklyn on Friday(?), Jay-Z came out and did "99 Problems" and "Big Pimpin'" during the 2nd set. That might be the coolest thing I've ever heard.
