Today was moving really fast until about 20 minutes ago; the office is incredibly quiet now. I almost expect to see tumbleweeds. It's so slow, in fact, that I'm taking out my walkman (with my freshly taped loops) and putting on my headphones.

I can't believe my walkman still works - I've had it for about 10 years. Aside from that annoying jiggle-the-headphone-around-so-that-sound-comes-through-into-both-of-your-ears syndrome, the thing is still in relatively good shape.

So I'm listening to my loops. The process by which I taped them is embarassing* but at least I have the loops in portable form, for on-the-go lyric-writing contemplation. Of the 7 that I taped, I'm really fixated on only 2, which makes me a little nervous, but still hopeful. It's incredibly rare for me to even like 1 thing I'm working on at any given time, so I'll take it.

Um, so, yeah. I thought I had something really interesting to say, but apparently I didn't.

* I hooked up the 4-track to a tiny bass amp, and then held up a handheld cassette recorder. We're talking lo-fi sound quality here.
