1. My original intention for last night was to come home, download the new Secret Machines album, watch a little bit of NewsRadio Season 3 during dinner with Kath, watch the Wallace & Gromit movie on the couch with the puppies, and then start doing some music. My plan got derailed, though, because I completely crashed out by 9:00; I was in bed a short time thereafter. So, therefore, tonight is ALL about music (dammit, jongre, I'm such a shit) - and since Kath will be busy watching Lost, I'll have no television-related distractions. I am all about productivity.

2. I am all about productivity especially because Tim (from high school band) is coming over on Friday night to write, and then I'm going over to David's place (from Good Evening, natch) on Saturday to work on some of his stuff. PLUS I need to get my Talk Talk obsession out of my head and into my hands before I go completely insane.

3. The aforementioned Secret Machines CD? Not so much. (I'd link to it but Amazon isn't listing it, which is odd. iTunes didn't have it in their "New Releases" section but I found it anyway.) I am a HUGE fan of "Now Here is Nowhere" because it ROCKS and it has a wierd and unique combination of psychedelia and stadium-rocking balls. This new album is, dare I say, pretty bland in comparison. "Faded Lines" is pretty good, and the officially leaked "Alone Jealous and Stoned" is also pretty good, but the rest of the album is pretty forgettable. (Way too much use of "pretty" in this paragraph, sorry.)

4. The Scrollwheel finals are here! Um, I'm not allowed to talk about it, nor would I want to even if I could, considering how it's going. What I WILL say, however, is that the jervonaut squad kicked some serious ass. Kudos will be delivered to mgrasso upon the final tallying of the votes for his fantabulous HTML skills and his tireless devotion to arcane seeding methodologies.

5. Finished "Carter Beats the Devil" yesterday. Goddamn, that book is SO AWESOME. Now I must choose: attempt #2 at The Blind Assassin, or attempt #1 at The Kite Runner?

Finally: baseballbaseballbaseballbaseballbaseballbaseballbaseballbaseballbaseballbaseballbaseball

The second rule is that having a Wolf Parade song in there pretty much guarantees victory.
Now THAT is a bit of helpful advice that I really, really needed. Honestly. I have no time for sadness! I had no idea it was a sad book. I've heard that it's amazing, but then again that's what people said about "March of the Penguins" and those motherfuckers need a cockpunching in the worst possible way.
I will help you punch them. The part with the egg freezing was about one of the saddest things I've seen in my life. I hate that movie, too.
I should have said - I actually got so angry that someone gave me this sad book to read, that I threw it across the room in disgust.
