1. I've had a copy of Thom Yorke's "The Eraser" for the better part of a month now, and aside from when I first got I hadn't listened to it at all until this morning. The album as a whole is OK - certainly worth a listen - and I'm very much in love with the opening, title song. So much so that it's getting in the way of a new song I've been trying to work out in my head for the last few days, a song that is way more of a Bloc Party ripoff than anything Yorke-ian. But them's the breaks. In any event, I'm hoping to demo this new idea either tomorrow night or Friday, since tonight I'll be busy...

2. ...auditioning the first drummer in Good Evening's latest wave of drummer auditions. This guy wrote us an amazing e-mail, said all the right things... oh, and he's 48. We are not in any sort of position to be age-ist, but I mean, Jesus Christ. Full report tomorrow, assuming I've not killed myself.

3. I've been contemplating doing a phone-post, being that I can, but I've not yet been compelled by anything worth phone-posting. Be on the lookout, though, in case I get the urge. Hell, I might even do one tonight on my way home from rehearsal.
Jervo. I've got a plan for you to make a mini-heap of money: You and you alone are all set up to write the tragicomic novel titled, Wanted: Drummer.

Seriously, look back in your journal, it's more than half written!!

Thom was on NPR yesterday and I caught a bit of it. I don't think I'd ever heard him speak before, so it was weird to be reminded that he was an actual normal-sounding human being. And not, for instance, the spazmoid with the creepy face that went into convulsions during "Idioteque" when Radiohead was on SNL.

They also played a bit of "The Eraser" (the title song), and it sounded OK. But I'm not really a fan of his electronic stuff; I think that when Radiohead started drifting into electronica it just made their music even more insular and difficult than it already was.
His voice may be normal, but pretty much everything else about him is a bit... off.

Who is this, by the way?
