1. Back at work; actually feeling pretty good this morning. Did some meditation, then some exercise (!!!) and now I'm tired and sore, but: I'm at work and, more importantly, not feeling like there's a bag of popcorn heating up in my stomach.

2. I got hooked up with the forthcoming Forms album the other day, and it's all I've been listening to for the last 24 hours or so. It's got elements of +/- and Aloha, sure, and it's a lot mellower than "Icarus", but it's also doing strange things to my brain's pleasure center. Track 1, "Knowledge in Hand" and Track 6, "Bones", are particularly awesome.

3. Now that I'm done with HP7, I can get back to "The Riddle of the Traveling Skull", which I'd picked up during the McSweeneys sale. (Speaking of which, that sale might have been successful, but it totally sucked in terms of delivery time - it took them almost a month to fulfill my order.)

Kath offered to get this for me as a birthday present, but my birthday is in December, and the war could be over by then.

5. It'd be great if by "war" I meant the war in Iraq. I'd wanted to post this video the other day, but my desire to post coincided with the exact moment of the massive power meltdown that blew LJ up.

  • Catching up

The first sentence of this post was "Finally, some breathing room," and then as I was in the middle of the second sentence I got handed…

  • (no subject)

Kinda hard to imagine Thomas Pynchon (and not, say, Tom Robbins) writing this paragraph, but there it is on p. 99 of "Inherent Vice":…
