Movie review: HP is fun, although I think you need to read the book in order to fully appreciate what the movie leaves out. Some of our friends weren't very happy with it, saying it left too much out, or that it wasn't entirely faithful to the book - I say, hey, the books were aimed at 11-year-olds, not 25+ and up, and the movie was geared towards the same audience. That the franchise caught on with adults is something nobody could have anticipated, but even so, it's a kid's movie. A very expensive but entertaining kid's movie.
For my money, though, the best kid's movie of all time is The Goonies, hands down.
Anyway. Today's busier than usual, plus I gotta figure out a whole bunch o' things re: Thanksgiving, i.e. transportation, timetables, gifts (my mom likes to do holiday gifts at Thanksgiving), etc. There's been an awful lot of non-communication this year, and considering that I'm dragging* the woman along with me, it's kinda sucky that I have no idea what's going on.
*Special note: when I say "dragging", that's not what I really mean. You know that, right, baby?
